Spinal Rehabilitation Programme

Spinal rehabilitation programmes, which are also used post-operatively, are of major importance in physical therapy regimes. The purpose of such programmes is to change behavioural patterns that have become established over decades.

Important elements in a spinal rehab programme include:
  • encouraging patient compliance;
  • avoiding behaviour that could damage the vertebral column; and
  • encouraging behaviour that promotes correct spinal posture.
The spinal rehabilitation programme augments the physiotherapeutic measures normally applied. For the patient, the spinal training programme represents an excellent means to re-establish correct postural awareness – a particularly valuable factor when performing day-to-day work.
